Instructions
In a small saucepan, warm the milk over medium heat until it begins to steam. Do not let it boil.
Whisk in the turmeric, grated ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper. The black pepper is essential — it boosts turmeric absorption by up to 2000%.
Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spices are fully incorporated and the milk is golden.
Remove from heat. Stir in the honey and coconut oil or ghee if using.
Pour into your favourite mug through a fine strainer. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top and serve warm.
Tips & Notes
- ✦For a frothier latte, blend the warm mixture in a blender for 30 seconds before serving.
- ✦Make a turmeric paste in advance by mixing turmeric with water and storing in the fridge for up to two weeks.
- ✦Adjust sweetness to taste — jaggery or maple syrup work beautifully instead of honey.
